Teachers seek Classroom Audio Solution
Classroom Audio is fast becoming a buzzword among teachers in modern primary and secondary schools.
Sometimes referred to as 'soundfield' systems, a classroom audio system places a single loudspeaker or two loudspeakers towards the rear of the classroom. The loudspeakers are connected to an amplifier which picks up the sound from a wireless microphone, more commonly worn around the neck, which picks up the sound of the teacher's voice. The sound from the microphone is then relayed through the speaker(s) at the rear of the classroom providing an improved distibution of the teacher's voice.
It is a reserached fact children sitting at the back of a classroom cannot hear the teacher as well as those sitting at the front of a classroom. Teachers often have to overcome increased ambient noise in a modern classroom from PC and projector fans, printer fans, heating, furniture movement and outside noise. An installation of a classroom audio system can resolve these problems and lead to improvements in attention from pupils, improved test performances and improved wellbeing and health in teachers.
Stuart Graham, managing director for Clarity commented 'Gradually the requirement for classroom audio is being recognised by head teachers and teachers alike. At two recent education exhibitions teachers were asking about classroom audio much more than previously. A number of building contractors are also asking us about the installation of classroom audio systems, which of course we can supply and install'.
'We are convinced that once you have tried a classroom audio system, you will wonder how you ever managed without it' continued Stuart Graham.
